Is Oral hCG a Fraud?

January 1, 2009 · 5 Comments

From this excellent post at HCG Diet Facts, the question of whether Oral hCG is a fraud has been addressed:

Does Oral hCG or Sublingual hCG work? Or is it a Fraud?

So what’s the story?  Why is there conflicting info on this subject?

After having done my own research, the simple fact is that the BEST method of delivering hCG into the bloodstream for use in the hCG Diet is through injection – all other methods fall short.

This doesn’t mean a sublingual form of hCG is COMPLETELY ineffective, it means less than optimal results will be obtained.

And to clarify:  You CANNOT simply swallow a liquid hCG formulation – the idea of Oral hCG is that it is placed under the tongue and absorbed into the bloodstream via the blood vessels under the tongue.  Oral hCG is really a misnomer – it is REALLY Sublingual hCG.

BUT, you have to take the sublingual hCG 2x daily, instead of one injection daily.

It doesn’t work as well, and therefore there is FUD being spread that it doesn’t work at all.  If taking injections is unsavory to you (as it is to most people) and you have the extra money laying around to TRY an Oral hCG formulation at the first go of the hCG Diet, it may work WELL ENOUGH for you.

If it doesn’t, then don’t give up – you were warned (you read it here) that it may not be as effective.  At this point, bite the bullet and switch to hCG injections, which have been shown to be 100% effective.

Ok I took the homeopathic sublingual version of HCG, and looking at blogs and polls etc. What I took was just as effective as what you took. I lost 22 pounds in 28 days and my dad lost 30. I have read about people being on for 90 days etc, I was only on it for 28 days and lost my weight and kept it off. I will be starting again in just a few weeks. So no I don’t think it is a fraud. It worked

Well, we are talking about 2 different things. Homeopathic hCG is NOT hCG, so if you actually took ‘homeopathic hCG’ and had success, great – but it was a placebo effect.

Oral or Sublingual hCG is actual hCG prepared in a tincture and placed under the tongue. It is not homeopathic. By definition, homeopathic and hCG are not even in the same ball park, since one is a hormone, and the other is ??? (I don’t know what they gave you)

Glad it worked for you, though.

I am curious if you are talking about IM or SQ injections? And if you are referring to IM, then what are your thoughts about SQ?
    Thank you.

IM injections are the best. That is how HCG is supposed to get into the body. Sub-Q injections also work, only not quite as well, but well enough.
