What the heck is Homeopathic hCG?

February 16, 2009 · 31 Comments

MAJOR UPDATE: Since writing the following post, I have been proven wrong.  Read this Homeopathic HCG STORY!

There is a lot of misinformation about the latest product on the hCG scene – homepathic hCG.

What is it?  Does it work? How?

Homeopathic HCG – Another Diet Scam

For those not familiar with homeopathy, the basic premise is that ‘like cures like’ and by introducing what amounts to a poison (albeit diluted to the point where it is harmless) into the body that has a similar symptom to what is trying to be cured, the body responds by curing itself.

For example, if a snake bit causes fever and swelling, then a poison that causes fever and swelling, taken in microscopic doses, should stimulate the body to recover.  This dilution of the poison that causes similar symptoms is usually quite extensive, and often continues until no molecules of the original substance are likely to remain.

Even though homeopaths swear by the effectiveness of these treatments, the efficacy beyond a placebo effect are unsubstantiated by scientific and clinic evidence.  The idea that a pharmacological effect can take place with no active molecules is not only scientifically implausible, but violates fundamental principles of science.

Does Homeopathic hCG contain actual hCG?

Based on the principal of homeopathy, a homeopathic hCG compound effectively has NO hCG in the final mixture.  If you were to do a home-pregnancy test on Homeopathic hCG by putting the Homeopathic hCG directly on the pregnancy test strip, it will not test positive because there is no hCG in your bottle of Homeopathic hCG (it should test positive on real hCG, because a pregnancy test detects hCG in the urine.  Incidentally, if you are taking hCG and do this test on your supply, and it comes up negative, your hCG may be artificial, tainted, or past expiration)

If you believe in Homeopathy, fine.  But hCG is a hormone that has a specific action in one’s body to mobilize Abnormal Fat stores into the bloodstream.  Without any hCG in the body, this pharmacological effect doesn’t take place.  Any weight lost on Homeopathic hCG is most likely muscle and water weight.  The success of people taking Homeopathic hCG is due to 2 things:  the 500 Calorie diet and a placebo effect.

Don’t agree?  Let me know.

Okay, I spent 6 weeks using oral HCG and lost 44 lbs in 40 days. I have been on the maintance phase for one week and have gained 11 lbs. After reading this article, I’m now confused! The following are what I took:

Mediral HCG Detox 7 drops x2
    Dr. Recommends Metabolic 1 7 drops x2
Mediral Weight Med 7 drops x2
Dr. Recommends Hepato Liquitrophic 1 tsp x2
Dr. Recommends Adreno Liquitrophic 1 tsp x2

Did I waste my time using these?

  • hcgdietinfo // April 3, 2009 at 3:25 pm

    Hi Stephen,
Mediral HCG Detox, as far as I know, is Homeopathic HCG, which doesn’t have any HCG in it.

If you lost 44 lbs in 40 days, it APPEARS you have had success, but do you know if you lost mostly muscle or mostly fat?

Did you know what your lean mass ratio was before and after doing your program? That’s the ONLY WAY to know what kind of weight you lost.

And if you did in fact lose MUSCLE, then that would explain why you are gaining weight again – your body doesn’t have the active tissue (muscle) to burn the calories it used to have so it packs on fat.

Welcome to the world of yo-yo dieting.

  • Stephen Bernards // April 3, 2009 at 3:30 pm

I lost alot of fat in the stomach area, My muscles appear not to be affected. I don’t know what my lean mass ratio was. My body fat was 43% and now 31%. Now what do I do?

  • hcgdietinfo // April 3, 2009 at 3:52 pm

Wow, 43% body fat? OK, so you lost fat which is great – you had a LOT to lose.

When you finished Phase II and went into Phase III, are being strict with your diet? Because the biggest reason people gain weight after Phase II is not eating enough (not following the diet).

Where do you get pharmacutical HCG not homeopathic ?

  • hcgdietinfo // April 14, 2009 at 4:25 pm

You need to get a prescription from a doctor that will prescribe it for you, which usually means a doctor that is currently administering Dr. Simeons’ HCG Protocol in his/her clinic/practice.

To find a doctor/clinic in your state, go to the HCG Provider Directory

  • DarleenMB // May 3, 2009 at 3:37 pm

Actually you do NOT need to go to a doctor. There are sources online, out of country, where you may legally purchase the hcg.

  • hcgdietinfo // May 7, 2009 at 1:54 pm

Actually, no, you CANNOT LEGALLY purchase hCG from a source out of the country. That is completely ILLEGAL and VERY RISKY. Sucks, but that’s the truth.

  • DarleenMB // May 7, 2009 at 2:06 pm

    You’re wrong. Period.

  • hcgdietinfo // May 7, 2009 at 2:12 pm

I really, really wish I WAS wrong – it would be a LOT easier for people to do the HCG Diet if they only needed to buy a homeopathic version and didn’t need a prescription, etc.

  • DarleenMB // May 7, 2009 at 2:28 pm

Well turns out I”M wrong. sorry.

  • Cindy // May 13, 2009 at 9:36 pm

My bottle of homeopathic HCG Detox reads:

    Ingredients: Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) 6x 12x 30x 60x

Are you saying that there is no HCG in this product?

  • hcgdietinfo // May 14, 2009 at 12:55 am

Not enough to matter. It doesn’t work because there is HCG in it. If that were the case, you couldn’t buy it without a prescription. To make a homeopathic remedy, they start with a little bit, then dilute and shake it upteen times until there isn’t anything left that is detectable.

So, imagine one granule of salt in your bathtub full of water. There’s probably less HCG in that bottle.

  • hawk // June 7, 2009 at 9:28 pm

I am using homeopathic HCG and it works fine. I am on my second round now and have lost a total 50 pounds in 7 weeks of actual dieting.

I did a 3 week maintenance or phase two and did not gain any weight back. You have to be pretty strict on this diet. If someone is having problems it’s most likely because they are not being strict enough.

My understanding of homeopathy is that using the energy signature of the HCG it will induce the body to induce the effects on its own rather then needing injections of the hormone.

I have gone form 29% body fat to 16%. I train MMA and have done just fine even while dieting. Just because science can’t explain something doesn’t mean there is nothing to it. Science once believed the world was flat too.

The blog owner asked for pictures of my keto sticks I will try to remember to get one next time I use one.

I did notice it took about 5-7 days of dieting to get the stick to register in the upper section above 40 mg/dl near 80 and above. I am not not expert but I chalk this up to body adjustment.

Any time you go on a 500 calorie diet the body will try and conserve HCG or not. The HCG allows the body to adjust to burning it’s own fat without taking from muscle and essential fats like it would on just a 500 calorie diet without HCG. Also there is some reshaping going on.

I would be curious to know if on the shots and testing with Keto stick you say fat burning above trace on first couple of days of the 500 calorie diet.

Lots of folks are loosing weight using homepathic HCG and the body reshaping etc. is being reported as good or better then standard HCG shots.

I don’t think it’s fair of you to say HHCG does not work when you have no evidence to prove it. I think it’s fine for you to voice your reservations of the method based on your own experience but you can’t definitively say it doesn’t work. Even if it didn’t for you we don’t know if you were doing it right etc.

You say you tried it and it registered only trace fat burn, ok how long did you try it for, and how many times did you test etc. etc.?

People are gouging others for HCG products including the homopathic so I am planning a a website to try and counter that and I will be promoting homeopathy mainly because it is simple and cheaper and it works.

Also most of what claims to be HCG comes from India so who knows what it is for sure..

I have nothing against anyone who wants to do the injections. However I think they ought to be informed so they can make an informed choice. And I don’t know about you but I have a problemswith injecting things I am not sure what they are.

People have also reported no results from injecting actual HCG so they could say it doesn’t work period and there are those out there saying that along with the diet gurus trying to preserve thier diet businesses.

We don’t know if they got a bogus batch from India or what so we can’t say if it just didn’t work for them or what other variables we don’t know about were involved in thier failure.

  • Brad // June 9, 2009 at 6:22 pm

Hawk, I like your comments. Look, results are results. That much is plain and simple. There are multiple ways to lose weight. In the end, it comes down to what you do after. If you revert back to old bad habits, you will gain back regardless of your initial methods. As far as the HCG, I lost 20 pounds on the homeopathic HCG. I measured my body fat and lean mass before, during and after and maintained my intial lean mass. Given that no muscle loss occured confirmed to me that my loss was from fat and that the lower calorie diet did not result in unwanted metabolic changes. No weight loss should ever come from muscle loss.

In addition, many people will say that anyone eating 500 calories, with or without HCG will lose weight. How many people do you know who have greatly restricted their calories and saw very little weight loss? I fact, I normally teach people that under consumption will lead to weight gain. That is normally what will happen. That is not the case with HCG. Everyone loses weight on it. I don’t care if you want to call it a placebo. I will take a placebo over a pharmaceutical drug with it’s accompanying potential sude effects any day of the week. I am convinced however that it is not a placebo effect.

I also agree with Hawk that just because there appears to be unexpalined affects does not mean that it does not work. Explain the mind body connection completely.

Just know that you can accomplish weight loss many ways. This is an effective way of losing weight.

How can I find out if the perscriptions that I need to take are going to be okay on the HCG diet? I take Pentasa for ulcerative colitis and am very sick when I don’t take it and feel great when I take it regularly. There are also a couple of other meds I take and I want to know if I they will mess me up. I have bought two bottles of the HCG homeopathic because it cost me 120.00 versus the at least 300.00 I was going to have to spend to get the shots. The man I bought them from has only used the drops and he has really lost weight. I hope he didn’t just lose muscle, I don’t know, I only know he is a lot smaller. Have I made a mistake getting the drops where now, I don’t have the support of a clinic to review my medications and progress? I have a class reunion coming up-too soon- and need to lose some before I go. I would appreciate a response and advice. Thanks

  • hcgdietinfo // June 15, 2009 at 9:15 pm

    Hi Michelle,
If you’re taking Homeopathic HCG, there won’t be contraindications between it and other meds like there would be with pharmaceutical HCG – homeopathic HCG doesn’t work that way. That being said, strong medications will interfere with how homeopathic HCG does work, so there’s no guarantee the meds you are taking won’t overpower whatever benefit the homeopathic HCG has.

So, give it a try – you’ll know quickly if the homeopathic HCG is working or not, and if not, you’ll have to switch to real HCG (and be sure to go thru a medical weight loss clinic – I recommend using a TrimYou Certified HCG Provider so you are sure they know what they’re doing and the HCG you get is good).

With real HCG, the doctor can tell you if there are any contraindications with your meds and advise you thoroughly. I can tell you that MOST medications and real HCG won’t interfere with each other, but strong meds WILL interfere with homeopathic remedies in the sense that it will ‘cancel the effects out’, but it depends on which meds, how strong they are, etc.

  • I've tried everything else // June 17, 2009 at 9:11 pm

    Hawk,
Your comment has really convinced me to push forward with trying the HHCG. I have tried so many other things and nothing has work. My weight has greatly affected my work and advancement in my profression. The biggest concern that I had with going forth is the amout of excercise I am doing and the effects it could possibly have on me once I start the VLCD. The fact that you are actively involved in MMA and have been able to stick to the diet without any problem helps clarify some reservations I had. Thanks

  • DarleenMB // June 17, 2009 at 11:24 pm

You do NOT need to do homeopathic. It is possible to order the real thing via the internet, legally I might add. And do it yourself. Thousands of us have done just that.

  • hcgdietinfo // June 17, 2009 at 11:42 pm

If you live in the USA, you can only order real HCG through the internet LEGALLY if you order from a pharmacy based in the USA and you have a prescription. If you live in the USA and are ordering it from outside of the country through an internet pharmacy (Canada, etc.) you are NOT ordering it legally if you don’t have a prescription, unless you happen to live in one of the few states left that hasn’t passed its own laws making it illegal. Which means you had better keep up on all of your state’s laws on internet pharmaceuticals.

  • Other interestedone // June 21, 2009 at 5:53 pm

I find the idea that we are not “legally” allowed to take care or not take care of our own bodies the way we want to by ordering from someplace other than the good ol’ U.S. of A., to be totally ludicrous and unconstitutional.

I do not believe the “legality” issue should warrant much credance. One can make as many mistakes they want..and thus learn and grow or they have the right to take things sl0w and investigate or anything else they want to. It is a matter about personal freedom to be able venture forth as a being without constrictions, which it seems usually propagate money for only certain entities.

  • hcgdietinfo // June 21, 2009 at 6:30 pm

While I totally agree with you, there are laws in place that don’t allow us to do this. And as the government expands its powers ever more, be prepared for more and more of these decisions to be removed from you personally and instead will be decided by the government. That’s where we are headed. In the mean time, ordering it from a place that the law says is illegal makes you culpable to the consequences, like it or not. Sucks, but that’s the way it is.

  • michelle // June 23, 2009 at 7:23 pm

I guess back to me (who by the way is trying out the Mediral HHCG for 1 week with the diet of course)-my doctor told me that HCG wouldn’t have as dramatic effects on me since I am post menapausal (spelling) and have had a complete hysterectomy. He then, however, tried to convince me to try out his program (which would include the shots and his sister who manges you and your diet, etc.) for the mere price of 995.00. Wo! Hold on. I wasn’t quick enough to ask him about the men that have lost weight on HCG and the fellow that sold me my HHCG lost 40 pounds. I’m worried that the weight I’m losing will be muscle which I’ve heard you don’t lose on the shots. I’m also worried that I’m going to be semii-starving on this 500 calorie diet for either 26 or 40 days (whichever my will power can take) and not get the effects I want either because I’m using HHCG and not the “real” thing or because either would not work as well anyway because I don’t have ovaries. Men don’t have ovaries, so…? Also, anyone out there increase their headaches while using HCG? I don’t know if my headaches are from HCG or from the new estrogen patch I’m trying. I’m It is a fairly low does and I’m switching to an even lower one. But my doctor thinks the HCG is causing me to have headaches. Thanks for the info.

  • Lori // June 24, 2009 at 6:38 am

Thanks for the story and the documentation. I’d be very interested in the spray if you decide to put in that large order. I would like to know what it would end up being per bottle, how long a bottle would last, and if it lasts long enough to stock pile for several rounds—I have about 80-90 lbs to lose and expect to have to do 3-4 rounds (probably the 40 day). I don’t intend on starting any program until the end of September as I am still in my research phase, but the more I read and research, the more I am convinced that this protocol is the right way to correct the problem.

  • hcgdietinfo // June 24, 2009 at 1:35 pm

    Hi Lori,
So far, about 1/3 of the number of people I would need to show interest have signed up, so hopefully over the next couple weeks we’ll get there. I can tell you that the cost of this will be virtually free (sign up on my page to find out how if you haven’t already!). Each bottle will last 40-50 days depending on a couple things that will be explained. I posted last night to my ‘My Fat Cure’ blog (http://www.myfatcure.com/blog) about my experiment going to 50 days to see if I’d build up a tolerance to this homeotherapeutic HCG spray like one does to real HCG – you can read about it there. You WILL have success with this protocol and the spray, that much has been proven not just by me, but a bunch of other people. Keep checking the ‘My Fat Cure’ blog for updates – that’s where all of the news about the spray will be posted.

I’ve done 4 rounds of HCG by injection and I participate at an online site that has a forum for support. I’ve lost 62 lbs in the 4 rounds and regained about 20 during maintenence over the summer ( just sloppy and not keeping track and weighing)… but that is neither here nor their. There is also a part of our forum where people using HCG homeopathic participate and they seem to have the same weight losses as those of us who inject or do sublingual. I am here because I was searching for a source to buy homeopathic HCG so I could try it to compare.

Being involved in this forum I am at for about one year now has, I believe, given me a basis to judge how HCG works in it’s various forms… I could be wrong but I don’t think those people on the homeopathic are loosing weight due to any placebo effect… that is doubtful to me.

What I believe though is that most people who are dieting are not willing to really address all of the multiple issues that are required to maintain their weight losses. It is a process to learn how to correct ones thoughts, actions and behaviors to be able to attain and maintain a new lower weight. Loosing weight is not the hard part… maintaining it is something to master…

I tell people it’s like learning an art , say painting, or an musical instrument… we wouldn’t expect to do that in two lessons… so why would we expect to just take a hormone or a homeopathic or whatever and be done with it… not that simple. We need to practice much..

    Love and Light,
    Beamer
